Open Access Advocate & Quality Assurance Coordinator
Revekka works as project manager at Inter Alia, and is involved in the ECHO II project, advocating for its open access policy, and monitoring its quality and impact. She holds a BSc in Social Policy and Social Anthropology from Panteion University, a MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from the National Technical University of Athens, and a MSc in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Athens (Master’s thesis: National Museums and Cultural Heritage in Europe: Origins, Transformations and Challenges in the Era of Open Access). She is also certified in cultural management and social entrepreneurship, and follows the GLAM sector and its transformations closely, since her research interests focus on nationalism, material culture, cultural heritage, identity and memory politics.
In the past, Revekka worked as a researcher and familiarised herself with using open access digital archives and repositories; and gradually, apart from their scientific and educational value, she discovered the creative possibilities offered by the rights to reuse and remix their content. Since then, Revekka takes initiatives and actively participates in various events aiming at the engagement of the public with the expansion and creative reuses of these digital commons. ECHO II foresees such events in cooperation with Revekka’s non-formal initiative GLAM Hack.
