Abstract
A poetic and calming landscape where a fishing boat is combined with an old red pattern from the area. An artwork that refers to the simple life of the local people, but also to remind the dangerous impact that the agriculture of apple trees had in Prespa Lake. The use of pesticides and phosphorus from the farmers had created a great ecological stress and threat to the ecosystem of Prespa Lake. One of its results was that the fishermen could no longer fish because of the overgrowth of algae and toxicity of the waters. After a lot of time, effort and money, things have finally changed, but now it’s up to the people to remember that there is a strong connection between land and water, apples and fishes, and to keep up with the right practices in order to maintain a healthy ecosystem that is beneficial for humans, animals and plants.
