On September 26, 2024, at 19:00h, GAKUD “Brakja Ginoski” hosted a vibrant folk concert at the Cultural Center “ASNOM” in Gostivar, North Macedonia. The event, organized by GAKUD “Brakja Ginoski” and Emil Ejupi, was part the pilot project implemented by Emil after his win in ECHO Academies, celebrating the rich traditions of Macedonian culture.
The concert featured 8 musicians playing a variety of instruments, including clarinets, accordions, and traditional Macedonian drums such as tapan and tarabuka. Two talented solo singers performed six songs showcasing the region’s vocal traditions, while more than 30 young dancers, aged 8 to 15, brought the folk dances to life.
The program included six Macedonian folk collages, blending dances and songs, alongside two instrumental folk compositions. The concert’s authenticity and diversity were praised by the audience, with approximately 150 attendees spanning generations from children to the elderly, highlighting the event’s wide community appeal.
The concert marked a successful celebration of Macedonian cultural heritage, particularly resonating with the youth, and reinforced GAKUD “Brakja Ginoski’s” ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting traditional arts.
