Ilire Avdiu Venhari

Ilire is one of the most exciting young Folk – Jazz Clarinettists on the stage. With her unique blend of Jazz and Albanian folk music inspired by her country’s old traditional songs and the beautiful landscapes, she captures the hearts and minds of the audience.

Her mix between a sweet sound of the Clarinet and the jazzy arrangements of her first album ‘A night in Pristina’ tells about the modern life of the society, living in a Country that is still in transition.

Her second album ‘Response’  is a reflection of all the struggles she had to go through in her Country because of Nepotism and lots of political problems which had a direct impact on her Life. But she will never forget her Fathers words “Never give up”, who passed away from Covid 19 that time when Ilire was planning to release her album.

After a short break, Ilire came up with a third album ‘A Coffe in Paris’ with charming and humble compositions that gives the public a feeling of a positive imagination. With django rhythms and a deep sound of accordion, it couldn’t be better to let the clarinet flow over the chords with french – jazzy solos.

Eventhough she had a wonderful childhood in Germany, Ilire decided to study music a little bit later than other musicians. When she came back from Germany to her roots, she had to adopt herself with the new society. And it was her father that saw musical interest on her and proposed her to study it. After high school of Music she  followed University and finally finished Master  studies on Classical Music.  During these times festivals and competitions like Damfest, Remusica Fest weren’t missing on her active musical life.

Her collaboration with National dance and song ensemble, with Balkan jazz bands in her country, gave her a deeper love to traditional folk songs.

With these bands she took place in many festivals in and outside her Country like Ngo Fest, wine and Beer Fest – Skopje, Music events in Macedonia, Montenegro, Great Britain and Turkey.

But representing herself, she played her albums on the International Jazz Festival Pleven with the greatest jazz musicians of Sofia. The characteristic of using south Albania’s music style, gives her a unique sound on Clarinet.

She continues to work as a music Teacher and as a music collaborator in the music department of the National Radio Station.
