Boglár Peruzzi

Boglár Peruzzi was born and currently lives in Budapest, Hungary. She is a member of the New Generation Art Company. Her main artistry is of the following genres: sculpting, painting, and art photography. By diversifying these techniques, she is able to step over the boundaries of the mediums. She likes taking photos of her sculptures and statues to transform them onto a new medium. The connections between space, geometry and the model are one of her main interests. Lately, she has been experimenting with the demolition of the fundamental compositional rules of art to achieve a surreal geometrical world unlike any other, while she also respects the traditions of the ages. Her work contours a balance between the surreal and the real, the abstract, and the actual. This is why she adds textiles to her paintings and use sculptures in her photos.

Behind her works, there are usually serious philosophical and conceptual design considerations. She often uses the cyber culture as inspirational source, and therefore, in her pictures, a sterile world is reflected with idealised characters trying to find answers on the big questions of human being. Her latest paintings are about accepting our self-image, the feelings of contention between shame and the desire to hide, and the obstacles we make for ourselves and that others make for us in our everyday lives. Geometric separation with planes also express isolation.

My main artistry is composed of multiple genres. By diversifying my techniques, I’m able to step over the boundaries of the mediums; and in this way, I create artworks that are not only sculptures, and paintings that are not only paintings, but that become vivid and tangible, striking and surreal.

My works often interact with my audience, while there are usually serious philosophical and conceptual design considerations behind them. Lately, I have been experimenting with the demolition of fundamental rules for the composition of art to achieve a surreal geometrical world unlike any other. The experiences I am working through, of course, cross over from my world of sculpting, and are carried over into my paintings.

I also respect the traditions of the ages; my work contours a balance between the surreal and the real, the abstract, and the actual. This is why often I add textiles to my paintings and use my sculptures in my photos. I like taking photos of my sculptures and statues to transform them into a new medium. In these photos, I manipulate space and shapes. I idealize and transform the themes of my pictures; the connections between space, geometry and the model are one of my main interests.

My conceptual ideas often originate from the impersonality of pop art, but the styling is based on a futuristic, modern lifestyle. In my pictures, the goods of the natural world are often coloured with an unnatural colour. I am using this technique to draw attention to the fact that we are already off the road of natural living, but we haven’t even consciously realized it yet.

In my photos, the models are often presented as they were sculptures, totally idealised. I often use the cyber culture as inspiration, and therefore, in my pictures a sterile world is reflected with idealised characters trying to find answers on the big questions of human being.

My latest works are paintings and about accepting our self-image. The leaves and plants that appear in one image symbolize feelings of contention between shame and the desire to hide and the obstacles we make for ourselves and that others make for us in our everyday lives. Similarly, geometric separation planes also express isolation. The separated coloured surfaces represent walls. The wall is a cover, just as the leaf is a cover. This cover is a protective shell.

My works are about embodiment, or in other words about human manifestation and its acceptance. It is about being a human, and how much we dare to be authentic. Manifestation is a feeling, it is a quality, it is a philosophy but at the same time it is also tangible. We exist in a body, but this body is also home to our consciousness. Awakening is also the road of manifestation that has never been more important than in today’s fast changing world.

Authentic awakening is radical, and it is not only a spiritual exercise. The journey of becoming authentic is not simple and static, but it is fresh and full of life. We can only live in our own authentic way if we are able to accept ourselves and at the same time, we are able to be open to the world. This is also a cleansing process. Cleansing in this context means that what we had in the background, has to come forward and it has to transform.
