Ioana Țurcan (she/them) is a farmer, working as an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker and cultural producer. She holds a BA in Cinematography, Photography, and Media, an MA in Documentary Filmmaking, and an MFA in Film/Video Production completed under a Fulbright Grant. She has also pursued independent courses in Critical Images: Dignity and Representation at the Royal Academy of Art, and Contemporary Art and Health at Gothenburg University, both in Sweden. In recent years, Ioana co-developed local initiatives to enhance access to art education and cultural production, facilitating workshops on analog photography, creative writing, contact sports, and filmmaking. Since 2021, she has been part of the duo Uncertain Space, focusing on caregiving, ambiguous loss, rituals, and physical dependency. In 2022, she co-founded the transnational artist collective an office, developing site-specific activations for Documenta 15 (Germany), Fotograf Festival (Czech Republic), and Centrul de Proiecte (Romania). Ioana is part of the ArtsLink International Fellowships: US Residency 2024 cohort and is currently in post-production with her second short film and a soundscape album.

Ioana Turcan participated as an artist in residence in the Bucharest Art Residency (Romania) on the topic of audiovisual arts, part of the ECHO III: For Memory's Sake Creative Europe project.
