Abstract: In my work, I analyse the conflict between the traditional (sacred) view of the word and the contemporary, postmodern attitude and the opportunities for solving it in the forming of the individual and collective identity. I reread those lines while looking for the meaning of the word “Rubedo”, used in the title of the third canvas of the triptych. “Rubedo” is a Latin word meaning “redness”, while in alchemy, is a successful end of a great act. The Rubedo stage includes an experiment of the alchemist to integrate a new feeling of themselves before entering the world once again. I am attaching myself to the tiny flames wandering on my three canvases as symbols of the eternal and the transient in order to return to their world, grateful and a little bit better. Beáta Méry
