Abstract
-
"There are three important strata in life: the physical stratum, the psychic stratum and the spiritual stratum. With this series of artworks, I wanted to show mostly the levels of the spiritual stratum." Marcella Papp
“Strata of Life” is a series of five digital photo collages. The human figure is the central image in all of them. These are the figures of socialist sculptures like those that can still be seen in public places in Sofia, but also the figures of people who have become an element of the environment, of the bigger picture of the modern city. In these colourful collages, composed in the center of white canvases, the artist portrays her vision of the three layers of human life -physical, psychological and spiritual- which outline the parameters of human existence.
