Abstract
"This installation consists of 2 canvases placed vertically from the ceiling to the floor. The left side canvas covers the half surface of the right sided canvas. The final narrative of two rosaries in a form of the Infinity created through the two different levels. At the same time, the form changes according to the viewer’s point of view to a new image of a spiral helix vertically oriented. The helix symbolises the concept of evolution, and the infinity symbolises the eternal process of becoming. I used the canvas as a fabric beyond the painting surface, because, in this way, it creates and activates the space with its plasticity. It is a painting of the retina, which changes and transforms according to the viewer’s point of view, thus highlighting the hidden intention within the same entity, soul, community." Ennios Eros Giogos
In this work, the image of the rosary is the main element that brings together the vision of the artist. This object, which is so typical of the Balkans, acts as a graphic sign, a symbol of the unity and connectedness of different cultures gathered in society. The rosary connects paper strips hanging from the ceiling of the gallery: the bright yellow and blue coloured spots give this extremely clean image a modern twist. This work is painted in a calligraphic manner, ala prima, on the floor of the studio, with a wooden stick dipped in paint.
