Abstract
"This square is one of the most impressive things I saw in the city of Sofia. I wish one day, here and all over the world, it will work just as it looks here. Peace." Remzije Lloga
Remzije Lloga conveys her quick and immediate impressions of the city in a series of black and sepia ink drawings. Akin to an old city correspondent, she captures the moments that have impressed her the most. The area around Maria Luisa Blvd., with its remarkable aggregation of temples of different religions, has become a symbol of intercultural tolerance. Her drawing “Tolerance Square” depicts in the form of a collage the Turkish mosque, the Catholic church, the Synagogue and the church of St. Sophia.
